Cheep transport from Orlando International Airport

We have just watched a vlog from “WDW Explore and Chill” on YouTube, where it was revealed that for $2 per person, you can travel from Orlando International Airport to Disney Springs (Via the Florida Mall). [Watch Here]

I have checked the details using the Lynx App and the bus is the “311 – DISNEY/ORLANDO INT’L AIRPORT/DESTINATION PKWY EXPRESS” it only has 5 stops (including start and end points) [ Starting/ending “DISNEY SPRINGS TRANSFER CTR DP”, “DESTINATION PARKWAY SUPERSTOP”, “FLORIDA MALL”, “SAND LAKE SUNRAIL” and finally “ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT” ] and it takes about an hour (traffic dependant).

This is considerably cheaper that a Lyft, Uber or the “Sunshine Flyer” by mears. The difference being you still need to make it to Disney (or wherever you are staying).

For travellers staying at a Disney resort, there are plenty of free Disney busses leaving from Disney springs. The Lynx bus drops you off at the Cirque du Soleil side, with the Disney busses leaving from behind the Coke store & undercover shopping area, so there’s a bit of a walk (see the Disney Springs Map or check the Disney World App).

For those staying at International Drive, Lynx bus number 42 goes direct from Orlando International Airport to International Drive, for the same cost of $2 per person.

This could be a good cost saving option compared to the other transport options mentioned above and is no less convenient (e.g. The Sunshine flyer may stop at multiple Disney resorts), with the exception of having to take your luggage on board (Sunshine flyer driver will store your bags in the hold under the bus).

Disney Food Blog also did a full write up of their experience of this bus service.
